FAQ
Questions, answered.
The things people ask us most. Missing one? Email hello@geondex.com.
- What does Geondex actually do?
- We track which AI answer engines (Perplexity, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) cite your domain for the keywords you care about, and who's beating you to the answer. Daily scans, diff alerts on gains and losses, competitor share-of-voice.
- Which engines are supported today?
- Live: Perplexity, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude (Claude is Pro tier only). More answer engines are on the post-launch roadmap.
- How accurate is the citation tracking?
- We parse the citation lists returned directly by each engine's API — no scraping of chat UIs. URLs are canonicalized (host normalize, www strip, IDN, query-strip rules) so `example.com/blog` and `https://www.example.com/blog?utm=…` collapse to one citation.
- How often are queries run?
- Weekly on Free and Starter, daily on Pro. You can also Run-now from the dashboard (5/day on Starter, 20/day on Pro).
- What happens to my data if I cancel?
- We keep your account and historical citation data on the free tier (with limits). Hard delete on request — email hello@geondex.com and we wipe within 30 days. See Privacy.
- Do you offer a free tier?
- Yes — 1 project, 5 keywords, daily Perplexity scan. No card required. Upgrade when you need ChatGPT, more keywords, or competitor leaderboards.
- Can I cancel anytime?
- Anytime. Subscriptions are managed in the customer portal (linked from your dashboard). Cancellation keeps the paid plan active until the end of the current billing period, then downgrades to free.
- Do you offer refunds?
- If something's broken on our side, we'll refund unused time. Email us; we don't argue.
- Is there an API?
- Read-only API is on the post-launch roadmap. If you need it sooner, tell us — paying customers can get early access.
- How is this different from rank trackers?
- Traditional SEO rank trackers watch Google SERP positions. We watch AI answer engines, which cite a small handful of sources per answer rather than ranking ten. The optimization playbook is different — "share of voice in cited sources" is the metric that matters.
